We hope you enjoy your stay with us, and for that reason, we have prepared the cabin usage instructions to make your vacation easier!

1. Please take off your shoes indoors.

2. Please note that achieving the selected temperature when adjusting the floor heating may take several hours. You can expedite this by using an air source heat pump.

3. Candles and outdoor fires may only be burned on a fireproof surface. Please ensure fire safety.

4. Smoking is absolutely prohibited in all indoor areas.

5. Remember to close all windows and doors after airing out.

6. If you have moved the furniture, please put it back in its original places.

7. The use of the car charging station must be agreed upon separately with the landlord; you can also arrange for its use during your stay (the station is disabled by default and will be activated remotely by the landlord).

8. During your stay and at the end, the trash should be placed in the trash bin located in the front yard.

9. When you check out of the cabin

   • Turn off the indoor and outdoor lights, close the windows, and lock both doors when you leave.

   • Leave the heating and air conditioning settings as they were when you arrived (please do not turn off the heating, as it may cause the cabin to freeze in winter!).

     • Heating (thermostats): 18 degrees

     • Air source heat pump: 18 degrees

     • Ventilation unit: “Off” mode

   • Make sure that the faucets for the dishwasher and washing machine are in the off position.

   • See detailed cleaning instructions below.

Please contact the landlord if you need additional information regarding the accommodation. If any device is damaged due to improper use, the customer is liable for compensation. Always ask the landlord if you are unsure about the use of the device.

The cabin must be in good condition after your stay. Please note that failure to follow these instructions will result in an additional cleaning fee! If you wish, you can inquire about the possibility of ordering a final cleaning even after your vacation has started.

Did you finish the cleaning?

Great thing! The cleaner will come to the cabin after you leave. However, before the cleaner arrives, you still need to do the following things at the end of your cabin vacation:

1. Wash the dishes and then put them back in the same places you took them from.

2. Empty the cabinets, freezer, and refrigerator of the food and other supplies you brought.

3. There is a mixed waste bin in the yard of the house. Please take the cardboard, glass, and metal to the recycling point near the Kide hotel parking lot.https://www.kierratys.info/Tupasvillantie-3-Pudasjarvi-Kylapiste-ja-aluekerayspiste-Iso-Syote/. 

4. Return the furniture to their original places.

5. Make the beds if there are no stains or dirt that require washing. Otherwise, leave the beds unmade and inform the landlord of the cleaning needs.

6. If you rented bed linens, remove the sheets from the beds and leave them on top of the bed with the towel or in a pile in the hallway.

7. If you have used the yard or grill area, please tidy it up.

8. You will be billed separately for any vomit and bodily fluid damages if necessary.

If you did not purchase the final cleaning…

Remember to clean the cabin thoroughly and well. When your cabin vacation is coming to an end, do the following things in addition to the above:

1. Vacuum the floors and carpets and then wipe the floors with a damp mop.

2. Clean the toilet and sinks.

3. Clean the sauna and washroom.

4. Clean all surfaces: countertop, stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, and tables.

In the bathroom cabinet, you will find cleaning supplies. Other cleaning tools can be found in the larger bedroom's cabinet. The mops are color-coded so that red is for the toilet, yellow is for other bathroom surfaces, and blue is for the living room and bedroom surfaces. The kitchen has its own mop.

We are happy to welcome our furry friends as well. To ensure everyone has a pleasant visit, please familiarize yourself with the following guidelines:

1. Pet fee: A €50 pet fee will be charged per reservation. This helps us maintain the cabin for future guests.

2. House-trained pets: Please ensure that your pets remain house-trained during your visit.

3. Supervision: Pets should not be left unattended in the cabin. If you need to leave, take your pet with you or arrange for care.

4. Cleaning: Please clean up after your pet both indoors and outdoors.

5. Furniture: To keep our furniture in good condition, please keep pets off the furniture.

6. Noise: Please consider the noise level so that all guests and also neighbors have a peaceful environment.

7. Damages: Damages caused by pets are the responsibility of the pet owner and are compensable. Please inform us of any damages with a low threshold.

The cabin has a wireless internet connection named “DNA-WIFI-5GHz-116D” or “DNA-WIFI-116D” / password: 36325781 (also found on the bottom of the router)

The lock is opened from the outside by entering the code and pressing the "unlock" button in the lower left corner. From the inside, you exit by pressing the button on the inside and turning the handle down. The door lock operates manually from the inside by turning the knob to the locked position (to the right), at which point a red light flashes, or from the outside by pressing the "lock" button.

The product has two different safety modes (use is optional): KOTONA mode and POISSA mode. The safety modes are activated by turning and holding the knob in the locked position for three seconds.

In case of any issues, please contact the landlord directly by phone or WhatsApp; they also have the option to remotely unlock the door.

The TV is controlled with a white TCL remote. You can use it to access the programming services offered by the television. The cabin does not have streaming services set up, but you can use your own credentials to access them.

The speakers turn on automatically.

DNA TV is controlled with a black remote. If DNA TV does not appear automatically when you turn on the TV, you need to switch to DNA TV from the TCL television menu under "Input" -> DNA TV.

There are regular free channels available on TV through DNA TV. The television also has applications like Netflix, Spotify, and Disney+, which you can log into with your own account; remember to log out of these applications when you log out.

Air conditioning is adjusted using the control located on the wall to the right of the bathroom door. The power must always be on.

Important settings:

Home ("Kotona") – basic ventilation that keeps the indoor air fresh while residents are at home.

Off ("Poissa") (put this on the day of the cabin handover) – low-power, energy-saving ventilation when the home is unoccupied.

Boost ("Tehostus") (after sauna use) – enhanced ventilation

The apartment temperature is normally around 20–22 ºC, but during summer heat it can be a few degrees higher. 

The air source heat pump is adjusted with the remote control. The power button is in the middle below the display OFF/ON. The program selector is MODE (see additional information in the settings from the image). You can find the user manual in the TV stand drawer.

A comfortable sauna temperature is typically 65-80 °C. When the electric sauna is on, part of the heating / car charging may be interrupted (dynamic load balancing of the cabin). Please turn off the sauna immediately after use and remember that not all electrical devices in the apartment can be on at the same time. Do not place fragrant oils, etc. on the sauna stove. After sauna use, remember to turn on the ventilation unit (next to the bathroom door, upper switch) to the "Boost" setting.

The cabin has a 100l water heater, please be reasonable with the use of hot water and at the same time save nature.

DO NOT PLACE ANY FLAMMABLE MATERIALS OR CLOTHING ON OR NEAR THE STOVE. IT CAN CAUSE A FIRE HAZARD.

Waterproof Harvia sauna speaker. 

You can stream music wirelessly with your phone, tablet, laptop, or any Bluetooth device. The speaker is water and heat resistant up to 65 degrees. The speaker can be found on Bluetooth under the name "HARVIA". It charges with a USB charger, and there is a cable for this purpose in the TV stand.

Remember to open the washing machine's tap on the left side next to the machine before starting the machine.

The cabinet has three compartments with hangers, as well as hanging rods in the doors. Each compartment has several rails for hanging laundry. Tips for drying below. 

• Hang clothes in the drying cabinet according to the space they require - not their weight.

• To achieve the most effective drying, do not place clothes evenly in the upper hanging section.

• Place long clothes close to the walls of the cabinet and shorter clothes in the middle section of the cabinet. The most effective drying result is achieved by hanging clothes this way.

• Fold the two lowest hanging sections up if long clothes need to be dried.

• Hang gloves, hats, scarves, and similar items on the hanging rails inside the door.

• All hanging levels are pull-out, making it easier to hang laundry. The hanging sections must be in the closed position when the door is shut.

• Do not overload the drying cabinet. If you do, the laundry will wrinkle and dry unevenly. Instead, leave space between the clothes if possible.

• If there is a risk that certain clothes will bleed color, leave free space around them.

• Avoid drying heavy clothes together with lighter clothes, as their drying times are very different.

• Dry knitted products evenly. They are heavy when wet and will stretch unnecessarily if hung on a clothespin.

• 

If you want a quick drying result and the garment can withstand high heat, turn the heat knob to maximum and set the drying time to 1.5–2 hours.

To dry on low heat, turn the heat knob just after the start of the semicircle and set the drying time to 3–4 hours.

Start the charging process by connecting the electric vehicle's plug to the car. Lift the cover of the electric vehicle's plug and connect the electric vehicle's plug to the electric vehicle's socket. 2. Disconnect the electric vehicle's plug from the car, and remove the electric vehicle's plug from the electric vehicle's socket.

The cable lock is activated automatically during charging.

The use of the car charging station must be agreed upon separately with the landlord; you can also arrange for its use during your stay (the station is disabled by default and will be activated remotely by the landlord).

For basic use of the microwave, using the rotary switch is sufficient; with one press, you get 30 seconds of heating time at full power, and by turning the switch, you can adjust the time more precisely.

The induction cooktop has a pot detector that recognizes a suitable pot placed on the cooking zone and activates it automatically, meaning the cooktop does not heat up without a pot placed on it.

For grilling and super grilling, the temperature must be set to 250 °C. When using the grilling and convection functions simultaneously, the temperature must not exceed 190 °C.

The range hood light turns on when you pull it out from under the cabinet, unless the light has been turned off with a separate light switch. The range hood must be in this position for you to turn it on. The range hood is equipped with three power levels. You can select the power level that best suits your situation using the controls on the front panel of the device.

First, turn on the water tap, up for off, left for on. Do not put dish soap in the dishwasher, only dishwasher tablets. Dishes must be rinsed before placing them in the machine.

The program starts by pressing the Start button in the lower right corner of the control panel.

Turn off the power to the device and the water tap after use.

Safety instructions

1. General

Special caution must be exercised in the heating of the cabin and in the handling of fire. The cabin folder contains instructions for emergencies in both Finnish and English.

The emergency exits in the basement are the door leading to the front yard and the door leading to the back yard.

1. Smoke detectors

The cabin is equipped with smoke detectors in accordance with the law.

1. Fire extinguishing equipment

The cabin has a fire blanket and a fire extinguisher as initial fire-fighting equipment. The fire blanket is located in the kitchen, and the fire extinguisher is under the stairs in the hallway. Familiarize yourself with their use.

Everyman's rights refer to the fact that everyone residing in Finland has the opportunity to use nature, regardless of who owns or controls the area.

Exercising these rights does not require the landowner's permission, nor is there any fee to be paid. However, when using the rights of everyman, one must not cause harm or disturbance. These rights are a generally accepted practice and are based on various laws. They also apply to foreigners.

EVERYMAN'S RIGHTS IN BRIEF

You can:

• Walk, ski, or bike in nature, as long as you avoid yards, fields, meadows, or plantings that could be damaged.

• Stay temporarily in areas where movement is allowed – for example, camping is quite free as long as you keep a sufficient distance from settlements.

• Collect wild berries, mushrooms, and flowers.

• Fish and ice fish.

• Boat, swim, and bathe in water bodies, as well as move on ice. Respect your neighbor's peace by staying at least 100 meters away from their cabin, yard, beach, sauna, and dock.

You cannot:

• Cause disturbance or harm to others.

• Disturb or harm bird nests and chicks.

• Disturb reindeer and game animals.

• Cut down or damage growing trees, take dead or fallen wood, twigs, moss, etc. from someone else's land.

• Make an open fire on someone else's land without compelling need.

• Disturb the peace, for example, by camping too close to settlements or making noise (100 m).

• Litter the environment.

• Drive a motor vehicle off-road without the landowner's permission.

• Fish and hunt without the proper permits.

• Touch marked fishing traps.
